Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a surprise inspection at a government school in Roop Nagar, taking a firm stand on student safety, hygiene, and administrative accountability. The unexpected visit sent a strong message across the education department that negligence in schools would not be tolerated under the current administration.
The Chief Minister arrived at the school without prior notice early in the day, catching officials and staff off guard. Accompanied by senior education department officers, Gupta inspected classrooms, corridors, washrooms, playgrounds, laboratories, and security arrangements throughout the campus.
During the inspection, Rekha Gupta interacted directly with students, asking them about their classroom experiences, sanitation conditions, and safety inside the school premises. Several students reportedly highlighted issues related to maintenance and overcrowding, prompting the Chief Minister to seek immediate explanations from school authorities.

“Government schools must become models of discipline, safety, and quality education,” Gupta reportedly told officials during the visit. She warned that strict action would be taken against negligence or delays in implementing safety measures.
Teachers also used the opportunity to share operational challenges, including shortage of support staff, infrastructure repair delays, and increasing student enrollment. Rekha Gupta assured them that the government is committed to strengthening the public education system and improving facilities for both teachers and students.
